For the past three years, A and I have been spending Holy Week in Boracay because work brings me there. This year, I declined to go simply because I miss spending Holy Week with my family. Every year since I was young, my family (which encompasses my uncles, aunts, cousins and grandparents) spend Holy Week at our business resort, Lake Island. Some of my relatives bring friends and it's almost like a 4 day party as there is drinking, karaoke, games, swimming and bonding (and now, we're adding poker on the list!). I always come home hearing stories of the fun they had at the island and be a tad bit jealous.
I never thought I'd be excited about spending Holy Week at the island. Now, I am. Even my uncle, who is also always at Boracay with me, is excited to go to the island. I just hope that A decides to come with me. Right now, his plans are up in the air because he might have to go to work tomorrow to prepare for a pitch. (That's the world of advertising for you!).
In other news, I am super excited because the book I'm reading now will be turned into a movie. For a while, PS. I Love You by Cecilia Ahern was just among the books I have to read. Last week, I just picked it out from the pile of unread books and found myself surprised that I was hooked by page 1! The basic premise of the book is that a husband leaves love notes (some of which are dares) for his wife to help her cope and move on after he dies. The book is romantic and funny and makes you believe in true love. I heard or read somewhere that the book will be turned into a movie and so I logged on IMDB and found out that the wife is played by Hilary Swank and the dead husband is played by Mr. Hottie of The Moment, "This is Spartaaaaaaaa!!!", Gerard Butler!!! There's no word yet when it will be released but from what I gather, they were aiming for 2008 and now, they moved it earlier to 2007. Sooo can't wait!!!
